Poetry

I did a scratch performance of Skittles at BAC in late 2009.  It was a storytelling/stand up/play with some rhyme in.  Since then, I’ve done quite a lot of poetry gigs and become the London slam champion. There’s a lot of luck involved in a slam. Still won it though. I’ve written three poetry plays, the most recent being WingmanSkittles has been commissioned for Radio 4 (extract here) and Dirty Great Love Story (co-written with Katie Bonna) won a Fringe First and transferred to Bristol Old Vic, Soho Theatre and NYC. Here are some poems:

Fools, at Hammer & Tongue in Camden:

And here’s Katie and me in our first ever performance together.  This went on to become Dirty Great Love Story.

I’m part of the Dirty Hands poetry collective, along with Amy Acre, Katie Bonna, Peter Hayhoe and Anna Le.

I write poems on commission. I did one at a wedding and it went really well. They’re still together. Get in touch if you’re interested. I also write plays.

There seems to be another poet Richard Marsh, from Ireland, who leapt in and stole my name before I was even born. Watch out for him.

Since writing the above, Irish Richard Marsh has been in touch and is apparently very charming. But you can’t trust those Richard Marshes.
